Senior Instructor post (2016)
Do you know your Klemheist from your Alpine Butterfly? We’re looking for a Senior Instructor to train our next generation.
You must have industry experience and great technical skills. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure the team is safe and operating to current best practice. You’ll need a great sense of humour, endless patience and an appetite for hard work. You’ll be responsible for training your team to site procedures, completing regular safety checks and leading the way in daily operation of activities.
Job Description
Job Role - Fulfil all training and safety requirements on site as well as operate in the daily running of all activities.
Main Duties
- Plan, implement and review staff training
- Lead instructor on all activities
- Duty Manager when required
- Review operational procedures
- Carry out/oversee all routine safety checks and related maintenance
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to meet operational team requirements.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
Attainments/ competencies: Clear spoken English, good handwriting and keyboard skills.
Previous experience: A proven track record in dealing with the general public.
Personal attributes: Must be professional with staff and customers, good listening skills, tidy appearance.
Special aptitudes: Leadership, clear communication, accurate, systematic and detailed record keeping.
Physical abilities/ circumstances: Able to work outdoors in all weather, be fit and strong.
Special requirements: Must be able to work long weeks in high season, bank holidays and weekends as required.
Desirable Criteria:
Qualifications: SPA/ ERCA high ropes/ low ropes/ site specific instructor/ GNAS/ Powerboat certificate/ water safety certificate/ outdoor first aid/ HSE certificate/ training & education certificate, full (preferably clean) UK driving license.
Previous experience: Experience in the high ropes industry, seasonal tourism, coasteering, climbing, training/ teaching, mountain biking, team management, site maintenance & repair, manual labour.
Special aptitudes: working at height, manual dexterity.
Physical abilities/ circumstances: Strong swimmer, rock climbing, good balance.
