Aaaaaaargh! (2017)

Feeling absolutely washed out and empty this week. First world problems everywhere I look, and no one really up for listening to me whinge. Poor me. The industry is becoming increasingly competitive, when we started no one knew what a Zipline was. Now they have them on cruise ships.

         Other companies are copying our colours, our font, plagarising the name, and generally catching up. I was feeling bad about it but then some kind of corporate survival mechanism kicked in. We have no patent on the colour yellow, or on the use of black on yellow, or in the word adrenalin. If someone chooses to copy our font and colours and use the word adrenalin in the trading name then we have to suck it up. A major Cornish tourist attraction built a zip wire, and then a giant swing after their staff visited us. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,  and competition has to be healthy.

     I must've been dreaming thinking that we would have it all our own way forever. There is no point in taking stuff like this personally, and customers will vote with their feet. Bad imitations can only make the original look good.  For us another company copying our branding was possibly even more shocking than another venue installing a Zipwire and a swing. The people that manage our look and feel and act as brand guardians for Adrenalin Quarry Ltd were pretty upset, it was their work that was being plagarised. Well good luck, as long as we are doing stuff that people want to copy and our customers love what we do then we're on the right track.
