THE WHAT, WHERE,
WHEN & HOW OF AQ
Do I have to pay to enter Adrenalin Quarry? No. Entry is FREE. Many people drive up just to take a look around and watch the jumpers and the hovercraft from our spectacular viewing platform on the cliff’s edge. I have small children. Is Adrenalin Quarry suitable? Absolutely. Children are our most fearless customers! They dive off The Zip everyday and love it. Last year, our youngest jumper was only five years old. However, if you prefer driving to diving, right next door is Kartworld,
Cornwall’s top go karting centre. We also have a picnic area where families can sit down, take in the views over the lake and watch the jumpers. In 2010, we’re building a play park, too. Do you provide food? Yes, there are light snacks, and hot and cold drinks available in the main reception. There are also a number of good pubs, restaurants and diners nearby. >>See our links page For group Hoverworld or Zip bookings we can arrange gourmet packed lunches from The Hayloft Bistro for £8.00 per head. Just let us know your requirements and we’ll get you fed on the day.
Is it safe? Yes. We’ve gone out of our way to provide a genuinely thrilling experience that gets your heart pumping without compromising on safety. There are regular safety checks across the site, daily equipment checks and replacement well within the recommended time limits. We only use state of the art gear: Petzl pulleys, tri-lock karibeners, 13mm climbing and caving rope lanyards, DMM harnesses, and Kenwood handheld radios. When better equipment becomes available, we’ll use it. This is why families AND adrenalin junkies alike keep coming back to us. Big thrills, no spills.
I’m thinking of coming, but I’m concerned some of my family/
group will be too scared to go down. How do you deal with this?
We welcome all types of people, from the truly nervous to the gung-ho. Our instructors are friendly and reassuring and are really good at calming the jitters. So much so, that we often find that the people who start off gulping at the start are soon rushing back for more. If you really don’t fancy it, you can relax with a coffee in hand and watch the jumpers on our nice, solid viewing platform overlooking the quarry lake.
I have a disability. Can I jump down The Zip and fly at Hoverworld? Yes. Last year, we had many wheelchair users and people with disabilities jump down The Zip and fly our single-seat hovercraft. Please ring in advance to book your tickets and discuss your needs. Are there disabled toilets? Yes. HOW DEEP IS THE QUARRY LAKE? Funny you should ask that. It's 22 metres at its deepest point. For imperialists, that's 72 foot and 2 inches.
Can we get photographs of
our jump?
Yes. Here’s how: as you jump, keep one hand on the rope, hold your phone/camera in your free hand, hold your arm straight so the lens is looking at you – you can’t go wrong. You can get really excellent footage to take away with you as a memory or share with friends. >>Take a look at all the stuff on youtube

>>Book your tickets here.
What should I wear? Outdoor clothes. No heels, please.
Do I have to queue for ages? 20 mins max, but usually much less. With our twin cables we keep queuing to a minimum. We’re the only place in the UK where you can just turn up and dive. Even in peak season, we’ll have you flying in minutes. Any age restrictions on The Zip? No. Last year we had children as young as 5 and ladies of 83 diving down The Zip. What about weight restrictions? Minimum weight 25kg, maximum 115kg. However, this can vary in certain conditions, such as high winds. So, we reserve the right to change the weight limits in the interests of safety. If you’re unsure, please feel free to ring us before you turn up.
I have a disability. Can I fly down The Zip? Yes. We had many wheelchair users jump off The Zip last year, (and fly on our our single-seat hovercraft for that matter). Please ring in advance to book your tickets and discuss your needs How much is The Zip? The Zip costs £12.50, second jumps £7. Look out for special offers.
>>See our prices page for full details
THE WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, & HOW OF FLOATING ON AIR How much is it? £50.00 per person How long do I get for that? Session includes all equipment, full training and 15 to 20 minutes solo flying time. Allow at least 2 hours on site in total. Any age restrictions? You need to be at least 14 years old. There’s no upper age limit.
What about weight? Maximum weight limit is 100kg/16 stone. What type of hovercraft will we be flying? You’ll be parking your backside on single-seater Hovery Bimos powered by twin uprated Honda GX200 engines. They’re perfectly balanced to give you enough oomph to know about it, but not so much that you end up in France if you go full throttle. For full details:
>>See Hoverworld stats page
I heard Hoverworld is group bookings only. Is this right? We can normally only do a session with 4 people. But let us know if your group’s smaller and we'll do our best to accommodate you if possible. Sometimes, we can team smaller groups together. What’s the maximum group size? All flying sessions run in groups of 4 people. However, for larger parties we can stagger sessions throughout the day and while you're waiting to fly provide other entertainment – The UK’s longest Zip Wire and Kartworld are on the same site. Please phone us for more details on large group bookings.
What clothes should I wear? Dress for the outdoors and be ready for the weather. Enclosed footwear (trainers/wellies, no heels) is essential. Long hair must be tied back and loose jewellery removed. No dangly earrings, scarves or necklaces please. Do you provide food? Hot meals from £5.00 with a choice of local pubs, diners and restaurants. We can arrange gourmet packed lunches from The Hayloft Bistro for £8.00 per head. Just let us know your requirements and we’ll keep you fed on the day.
Is it safe? Yes! We have two decades of motorsport experience with the best machines and safety equipment available. Hoverworld provides buoyancy aids and ear protection and has full Public Liability Insurance. Can anyone do it? If you’re 14 or over, yes. Non-drivers and motorsport novices pick up the flying skills just as quickly as the petrol-heads! No clutch, gears or pedals. I have a disability. Can I fly at Hoverworld? In many cases, yes. Please ring in advance to discuss your needs.
THE WHAT, WHERE,
WHEN & HOW OF JUMPING OFF A CLIFF (WITHOUT ROPES)
What is Quarry Jumping? Quarry Jumping at Cornwall’s Adrenalin Quarry is no-holds-barred freshwater coasteering. Explore a rugged wildlife haven, traverse sheer cliffs, swim across the lake and learn how to ‘tombstone’ safely in a series of cliff jumps that start timid but end insane. How much and how long do I get? £30 per person, per session, including all the kit, an experienced coasteering guide & 2-3 hours wild swimming, traversing & jumping.
What’s the age limit for coasteering? Minimum age limit, for safety reasons, is 10. No maximum age limit. Any other restrictions? You must be able to swim 50m comfortably and be in general good health to take part in our coasteering experience. Doesn’t coasteering involve loads of hanging around and waiting for the right weather? Not at Adrenalin Quarry's sheltered inland lakes and cliffs. We never close because of the weather so you're guaranteed a reliable adventure. Just turn up, get your gear on and you’re ready - no long treks before you start.
Do I have to do the high jumps? No. This is challenge by choice. You jump as high and as much as you feel happy with. We have a whole series of jumps that cover all abilities. There’s no pressure from us to do the big ones: the emphasis is always on fun. I want Stag/Hen Party activities in Cornwall. Is this any good? Are you kidding? We offer The UK's Highest Supervised Jump. Grown men turn to jelly when they face The Tombstone. It's as scary as you want us to make it and guaranteed to sort the best men from the bridesmaids. I do advanced coasteering. Can you challenge me? Definitely. Just take a look at the photos.
I want to go tombstoning in Cornwall. Is this the place? Absolutely. From 20m high you hit the water at 44mph. This is as scary as it gets. And the scenery's not bad either. What’s The Tombstone? The Tombstone is our highest jump: a jaw-dropping 20m from ledge to lake. One to add to your collection. Is coasteering safe? Safety is our top priority. You're always with experienced guides & every session is overseen by a SLSGB instructor. All adrenalin sports involve some element of risk, but we go out of our way to keep this to a minimum.
Can I wear my glasses? Wearing glasses is not recommended. We advise disposable contacts. What about wetsuits etc? We provide all the gear, including superwarm wetsuit and boots, buoyancy aid, harness and helmet. It’s state-of-the-art stuff but feel free to wear your own wetsuit or boots if you prefer. What do I need to bring with me? A towel, swim gear and refreshments (it can be thirsty work!) How many can do it? Maximum 20 in a group. No minimum. We can hook up singles and small groups with other groups no problem.
